Entreaties spoken into the empty air...

Another rejection letter today for Stephen...Another day of missing my Mom...and the encouragement from family and friends feel pretty hollow in the face of uncertainty.

We have so much in common. Maybe that's a bad thing. At one time in our lives we were so incredibly hopeful and trusting and excited about the possibilities of life. But, every day gets darker with each passing disappointment. So much so that it turns me numb. When I keep myself busy and surround myself with positive things, I don't feel like giving up...as much.

But, positive thinking is a band aid for a gushing wound. The wounding truth is that my Mom is gone and we are uncertain about our careers and how we'll make it after August.

We have been in this place before...and God delivered us through it. But, right now, drowning again in problems, it's hard to come up for air. We both feel so incredibly defeated.
