We are planning a little excursion to Long Beach to see the much anticipated show of Bill Viola at LBAM entitled Exchange and Evolution. I am super excited as I am currently researching Romanticism, Theatricality and Autographic Explorations of Faith in Art...So, Mr. Viola always knocks my socks off in these areas without ever coming across as too didactic or slick. It's a nice change of pace from stuff like this or even this which has it's place, but grates on my nerves as fashionable art for art's sake—something that irritates me about art trends at times.
