So, I'm like DONE. Stephen and I rationalized the following end game to this diet, and it goes something like this:
On Sunday, when my sister comes for her visit (and it's also Stephen's birthday), we are done with the Whole 30. We are doing the Whole 28 Some might call it giving up early, we've decided that 30 is an arbitrary number. For some, it takes 60 days or maybe just 10 to clean out your gut. We have stuck with it for 90% of the dream and we are breaking our fast with this healthy chocolate beet cake recipe come Sunday night.
We will treat ourselves to dole whips at Disney and maybe some pasta one night and then, the following week, we will start our 80/20 paleo plan of clean eating during the week and limited grain and dairy on the weekends. If we notice a lag in our weight loss or health, we might do the Whole 30 again in May with The Winklers. :) But, we'll see....
Today, for my birthday, I mixed cocoa powder with avocado and orange juice and imagined it was frosting. Happy Birthday to me! But, let's be real. 4 days TO GO.
